Cisco Prime Security Manager Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Cisco-SA-20140327-CVE-2014-2118 · Medium · Published · Updated

A vulnerability in the web framework of Cisco Prime Security Manager could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the web interface on the affected system. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation of several parameters in the dashboard related HTML pages. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user to access a malicious link. Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability in a security notice and released software updates. To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker may provide a link that directs a user to a malicious site and use misleading language or instructions to persuade the user to follow the provided link. Cisco would like to thank Adi Volkovitz from Check Point Security Research Team for reporting this vulnerability.
