Cisco WebEx Meetings Server Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Cisco-SA-20150116-CVE-2014-8030 · Medium · Published · Updated

A vulnerability in the sendPwMail.do page of Cisco WebEx Meetings Server could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against the user of the web interface of an affected system. The vulnerability is due to improper sanitization of the email parameter. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by intercepting the user packets and injecting malicious code. Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability in a security notice and has released software updates. To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker may provide a link that directs a user to a malicious site and use misleading language or instructions to persuade the user to follow the provided link. Cisco indicates through the CVSS score that functional exploit code exists; however, the code is not known to be publicly available.
