Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Cisco-SA-20150709-CVE-2015-4260 · Medium · Published · Updated

A vulnerability in Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. The vulnerability is due to insufficient validation of a user-supplied value. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by convincing a user to click a specific link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script or HTML in the user's session, which could be used to access sensitive browser-based information. Cisco has confirmed the vulnerability; however, software updates are not available. To exploit the vulnerability, the attacker may provide a link that directs a user to a malicious site and use misleading language or instructions to persuade the user to follow the provided link. Cisco indicates through the CVSS score that functional exploit code exists; however, the code is not known to be publicly available.

Administrators are advised to contact the vendor regarding future updates and releases.
